13 percent of registered voters cast early votes in Baxter and Marion counties

     Early voting for the November 8 General Election continues at a steady pace with over 1000 registered voters casting their ballots Thursday in Baxter County, according to County Clerk Canda Reese. She says 1017 votes were cast between Twin Lakes Plaza and the Baxter County Courthouse, the two early voting locations in Baxter County. That brings the four day total to 3,894 votes, which is 13.5 percent of registered voters in Baxter County. In Marion County, 13 percent of the registered voters there have already voted in the upcoming election, according to Dawn Moffit of the county clerk’s office. She says 324 voters cast early ballots Thursday at their single location at the Marion County Courthouse. The four day total in Marion County is 1,258 votes.

     In Izard County, 159 early votes were cast Thursday bringing their four day total of votes cast thus far to 558, or 9 percent of registered voters in Izard County.

     Early voting in the state will continue until Monday, November 7 at 5 p.m. In Baxter County, early voting is at the courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Twin Lakes Plaza Monday through Friday from 10 am. to 4 p.m. Marion County and Fulton County voters can cast their ballots during the early voting period at their county courthouses Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fulton County will also have early voting in Mammoth Spring at Simmons Bank on Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Izard County voters can vote early at Ozarka College in Melbourne Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Early voting will also take place in Horseshoe Bend on November 3 and 4th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
