The two-hour holiday extravaganza features performances from a variety of well-known music artists, including Olivia Newton-John, The Beach Boys, War, Cyndi Lauper and the all-star rock group The Empty Hearts, which features members of The Cars, Blondie and The Romantics.

Newton-John also serves as the Grand Marshal of the parade, which was taped last month in Los Angeles. Other stars who perform during the event include Kenny G, R&B singer Eric Benet, country star Scotty McCreery and the pop-rock collective Band of Merrymakers.

In addition, the event features appearances by dozens of celebrities, marching bands from across the U.S., equestrian units, floats, giant balloons and, of course, Santa Claus. Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain and Montel Williams are among the hosts of the parade. In addition, the special also includes a tribute to the parade’s 85th anniversary that features taped messages from Dolly Parton and other luminaries.

A repeat screening of the special will be broadcast on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel on Wednesday, December 21, at 3 p.m. ET/PT. The program also will be shown overseas on the American Forces Network, which is offered to more than 1 million U.S. military members.
