A group of Mountain Home High School students in the EAST program, environmental and special technology, have created a video to remind drivers to stop for school bus stop signs. The video has over 6,000 views since it was published in February.
According to the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation, last year there were over 72,000 illegal bus passes that put students traveling on the busses in danger.
Jackie Meissner, Mountain Home High School EAST Facilitator, says EAST students didn't want this problem in their community, prompting them to create a video to depict what can happen when drivers don't follow school bus laws.

The students who created the video were given an award by the Arkansas Association for Pupil Transportation and their video has been shared by various news outlets as well as by the Arkansas Department of Education.
Meissner said they really want to get this message out as school bus stop signs will be out within the week.
