Area schools host open house, classes begin next week

     Area schools will open their doors next week to start the 2016-2017 school year. Mountain Home teachers returned to work Monday for required training. Mountain Home Schools Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says, next on the schedule is the open house Thursday evening from 2 to 8.

     The first day of school for Mountain Home students is Tuesday, August 16. Dr. Long says the first day of school can be stressful, but teachers and administrators are on hand to answer any question parents, guardians or students have.

     Cotter schools will hold their open house Thursday. Their first day of school is Monday.       

     Flippin’s open house is Thursday for pre K from 3-5; K-2nd will be start at 5, 3rd-5th grade will be at 7, 7th-8th grade begins at 6, 6th grade and new students will be at 6:45, High school will be from 10-5. Flippin’s first day of school is Monday.

     Yellville-Summit will host their open house, a “Back to School Bash,” Monday night from 5 to 7. They will start classes Wednesday.

     Calico Rock’s open house will be Thursday from 4-6. Their classes begin Monday.

     Salem will host an open house Thursday night at 6. Their first day is Monday.

     Viola’s open house will be Thursday night at 6 and their first day of school is Monday.

     ICC will host an open House Thursday night from 6-7:30. They will return to class Monday.

     Bruno-Pyatt’s open house is scheduled for Thursday from 5:30-7:30 and classes will begin Monday.

     Bakersfield will hold their open house Thursday night, August 18, from 5:30-7:30. Their first day of classes will be Monday, August 22nd.

     Gainesville will hold an open house Tuesday, August 16, for K-6 from 4-6 and for 7-9th grade and new students at 6. Classes begin Wednesday, August 17th.
