A former Gainesville High School band and choir director learned his fate after pleading guilty to sex abuse charges last month. According to the Ozark County Times, 31-year-old Christopher Hensley of Albany entered his plea July 7th to statutory rape and sexual contact with a student by a teacher. This month, he was sentenced in Gentry County to a seven-year term and a four-year term in the Missouri Department of Corrections, and the terms will be served concurrently.

Hensley was arrested nearly a year ago after it was alleged he had sexual contact with a student in the Albany School District in May and July of 2015. He was originally charged with four counts of statutory rape and three counts of sexual contact with a student by a teacher.

Hensley was employed at Gainesville from August 2009 until May 2012 when the school board decided not to renew his contract.
