The season came to an end Tuesday for the Mountain Home Blue Devils at the Babe Ruth 14-year-old World Series in Westfield, Massachusets. The Blue Devils lost to Atlantic Shores, New Jersey 2-0 in the first round of bracket play.
Mountain Home did not have a hit in the game and committed three errors. Atlantic Shores scored both of their runs in the fifth inning and will now face Bismarck, North Dakota in the semifinals Wednesday.
Mountain Home finishes the tournament with a 3-3 record. It was their second straight trip to the World Series and third for the team. They were the Arkansas state champs and Southwest Regional champions this summer.
