LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ City leaders in Little Rock are planning a special
celebration to honor Olympic gold medalist Jeff Henderson.
The Pulaski County native won gold in the long jump Saturday, and the city of
Little Rock plans a celebration Thursday morning at City Hall. Another event
honoring Henderson is set for Thursday night at the Clinton Presidential Center.
Henderson is a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School who grew up in the
community of McAlmont. He arrived home from Rio de Janeiro Wednesday and was
greeted by a large crowd at the Little Rock airport.
Little Rock City Manager Bruce Moore will present Henderson with a plaque
Thursday.
