The Mountain Home High School football has one more preseason tuneup before the 2016 campaign begins in a week and a half. The Bombers will be at home for a benefit game against Highland.

Mountain Home is four days removed from its Bomberfest scrimmage, and head coach David Joyce says his players are ready to hit someone not wearing blue or gold.

Kickoff at Bomber Stadium is scheduled for seven p.m. Because it’s a benefit game, the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) has set the admission price at four dollars for everyone.

Yellville-Summit is also preparing for its season opener with a three-team benefit jamboree. The Panthers will welcome Marshall and Conway Christian to Marion County. Action at Panther Field begins at 5:00, and the pie auction originally scheduled for the Green-White Game will start 20 minutes later.

Another season gets underway Tuesday for the Mountain Home High School tennis teams. The Bombers and Lady Bombers begin the year on the home courts as they welcome Conway to the Twin Lakes Area.

Mountain Home is coming off a season in which their girls finished fourth in the Class 6A State Tournament. The Bomber boys ended up seventh last year.

The first matches get underway at 4:00 at the Mountain Home Athletic Club on Coley Drive.

The Mountain Home High School golf teams will be on the road as they meet up with Harrison. Tee time is slated for noon at Harrison Country Club.

In high school volleyball, Cotter travels to Bergman, Flippin hosts Marshall, and Yellville-Summit entertains Clinton.

The Mountain Home cross country teams will give their fans a chance to preview the upcoming season as they hold their annual Blue-Gold Meet. Action starts at 6:30 at the high school.
