U.S. Senator Boozman attends VA Clinic grand opening, tours Serenity Inc.

     United State Senator John Boozman (R-AR) spent Thursday in Mountain Home visiting the new Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic for it's grand opening. Boozman also visited Serenity, Inc., a facility that provides emergency shelter and advocacy services to women and children living in violent homes.
     Boozman says, having the Veterans Affairs Community Outpatient Clinic in Mountain Home benefits veterans throughout north central and north west Arkansas.

     When touring Serenity, Inc., Boozman met with Executive Director Niki de Soto to discuss the work the organization does on behalf of women and children who face domestic violence. Along with providing temporary shelter to victims, Serenity’s employees and volunteers offer a number of programs to assist and advocate for domestic violence victims in Baxter and Marion counties.

     Next week, Boozman will spend time in southern Arkansas as part of his annual ag tour. He says, agriculture is a key part of Arkansas' economy and, in some towns, it's the entire economy.

     After the election is over, Boozman plans to focus on Zika funding as well as continuing his work with a senator from Hawaii on a bill that looks to help homeless veterans.
