Izard County boys, Mountain Home girls win at Turkey Mountain

The Izard County boys and Mountain Home girls won a six-team golf match at the Course on Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend Tuesday afternoon.



The Cougars won the nine-hole event with a 161, ten strokes better than Mountain Home. Salem was fourth and Mammoth Spring finished fifth.

Matthew Workman of Izard County and Gage McClain of Mountain Home shared medalist honors. Tyler Pemberton of Izard County had a 39 while Zachary Williams and Drake Gallion each shot 42. For the Bombers, Landon Crider had a 43 and Luke Jackson shot a 44. Salem was led by River Galbraith with a 44.



On the girl’s side, Mountain Home shot a 222, eight shots ahead of second place Salem.

Vinessa Daniel of Mountain Home was medalist with a 50 while Kenzie Collins shot a 51 and Sydney Czanstkowski had a 57. Salem was led by Bailey York with a 54 and Kendra Rich with a 55. Izard County’s Mikayla Kish shot a 56.
