A second arrest was made Friday in the beating death of a two-year-old child. The Flippin Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Office took custody of 21-year-old Anastasia Weaver of Mountain Home on a Class C felony county of Manslaughter and a Class B felony count of Permitting Child Abuse.
Weaver is the mother of two-year-old Alithia Boyd who was severely beaten during an incident May 1st and died days later at a Springfield hospital. According to Flippin Assistant Police Chief Dusty Smith, Weaver's arrest is associated with the arrest of Cody Allen who was charged with Capital Murder in Boyd's death. At last update, prosecutors have not decided if Allen will face the death penalty.
Weaver was arrested without incident, and she is incarcerated in the Marion County Detention Center with bond set at $20,000. Her first date in Marion County Circuit Court is set for September 14th.
