Thursday schedule includes 6 sports

It's a busy Thursday as six different sports make up the local Thursday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School volleyball team returns to 6A/5A-2 district action as they play at Morrilton. The junior varsity match begins at 4:30 followed by the varsity match.
Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Clinton, Flippin makes the short trip to Yellville-Summit, Izard County hosts Cave City, and Bergman heads to Valley Springs.

Mountain Home's high school golf teams return to Big Creek Golf and Country Club as they take on Salem and Izard County. Tee time is scheduled for3:30.

The Mountain Home High School tennis teams will be on the home courts as Jonesboro visits the Twin Lakes Area. Action starts at four p.m. at the Mountain Home Athletic Club on Coley Drive.

All of Mountain Home's cross country teams will head across the state line as they compete in the Steve Waggoner Invitational at Willow Springs. The start time is scheduled for 3:30.

The Mountain Home freshmen football team has its first road test of the regular season. The Junior Bombers will be in the northwest corner of the state as they meet Bentonville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00.
In other junior high football, Salem entertains Earle, Marshall travels to Rose Bud, Mountain View is home against Conway Christian, and Harrison makes the trip to Little Rock to face Hall.
Mountain Home will have two other junior high football teams on the road as they go up against Yellville-Summit. The seventh grade game kicks off at 5:30 followed by the eighth grade contest.

In high school softball, Gainesville hosts Reeds Spring.
