After one of their most dominate halves in many years, Mountain Home couldn’t preserve a 24-14 halftime lead and lost to Nettleton 28-24. The Bombers rolled up 250 yards of offense in the first half and made several key stops defensively in the first half, but in the second half managed just 80 yards of offense and with many players playing both offense and defense, wore down in the final quarter.

The Bombers opened the scoring with an 11 play 70 yard drive capped by a 25 yard Isaac McKay touchdown run. But the Raiders answered on their second play with a 75 yard touchdown pass from Deondre Henry to Will Joyner.

Mountain Home would go up 14-7 on an 11 yard scoring run by McKay in the second quarter. Again, the Raiders answered when Detavion Turner broke free for an 18 yard TD.

Then Mountain Home scored 19 points in 70 seconds. Mikey McLean booted a 29 yard field goal. The defense then held Nettleton to a punt and on the next play, McKay hit Marshall Roberson with a 49 yard touchdown pass to put Mountain Home up 24-14 at the break.

Nettleton would score on their first two possessions of the second half. Turner had a 22 yard scoring run and Melvin Isom scored on a 20 yard run for what proved to be the game winning touchdown.

The total yards were pretty much even with 338 for Nettleton and 330 for Mountain Home. McKay finished with 94 rushing yards and 94 passing yards.

Nettleton improves to 2-0 on the season. Mountain Home falls to 0-2. The Bombers travel to Batesville next week.
