A 4-year-old Theodosia boy was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield Sunday evening after being attacked by his family’s two Rottweilers.
According to Ozark County Times, the 9-month-old Rottweilers dragged the boy about 100 yards before his parents were able to get the dogs off of him.
Ozark County Sheriff Darrin Reed says the boy had lacerations to the head and neck area. Privacy regulations at Mercy Hospital prevented a spokesperson from releasing information on the boy’s condition.
The dogs were put down after the incident. Their heads were sent to the state medical laboratory for testing.
