Thursday is Senior citizen and Veteran Day at the BXCO Fair

     Thursday is the first full day of activities at the Baxter County Fair in Mountain Home with gates opening at 10 a.m. and closing 9:30 p.m. It is also Senior Citizen and Veteran’s Day at the fair with seniors over 65 years of age admitted at half price from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and veterans pay half price for admission all day.

     A full line up of activities are planned for Thursday with the Bacchus Family Petting Zoo, Commercial Booths and Education Building open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bingo for Seniors will begin at 10:30 a.m. and fun until 12:30 p.m. at the Indoor Stage and the Chatting Needles will have demonstrations in the Education Building in the afternoon from 12;30 to 3. The Rabbit Showmanship for Youth begins at 4 p.m. in the poultry/rabbit barn and the carnival opens at 5 in the evening.

     Livestock judging begins at 8 a.m. with swine followed by sheep at 9:30 a.m. and beef at 10 a.m.   Dairy cattle and goat will be judged at 2:30 in the afternoon and at 6 in the evening, the Ultrasound Meat Judging Contest begins in the Livestock Show Arena.

     Also at 6, the popular Baby Contest and Baby Show will held at the Indoor Stage.

     Thursday evening’s musical entertainment is Real Life Church on the outdoor stage from 7 to 9.
