Saturday is final day of Baxter County fair

     Saturday is the final day of the Baxter County Fair in Mountain Home with activities for children beginning with the Kids Workshop by Home Depot at the outdoor stage when the gates open at 10 a.m. Also opening at 10 are the commercial booths, education building and Bacchus Family Petting Zoo, which will stay open until 9 p.m. The carnival on the midway opens at Noon.

     The stick horse rodeo will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the livestock show arena and will end at 12:30 p.m.

     The 4-H poultry hen sale begins at 12:30 in the afternoon at the Critter Barn and the Parade of Champions begins at 1 p.m. in the livestock show arena followed by the Junior Livestock Sponsorship Awards Presentation at 1:30.

     All livestock, except rabbits and poultry, will be released to their owners at 3 p.m.

     The chainsaw contest begins at 4 in the afternoon in the livestock show arena and the lawn mower races begin at 6 in the evening at the rodeo arena.

     Saturday evening’s entertainment on the outdoor stage is the Jake Clark Band from 7 to 9:30.

     Gates to the fair close at 9 at night and the carnival on the midway, which opens at noon, will remain open until after midnight.
