BRMC receives USDA grant

     Baxter Regional Medical Center has been awarded a $320,538 grant from the U. S. Department of Agriculture to provide a comprehensive telehealth care management program which will include remote patient monitoring and a free, 24 hour nurse help line. These enhancements will enable the hospital to improve patient case management and health outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and visits to the emergency room.

     BRMC was one of 18 projects in 16 states to receive a grant from the USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine program. These grants provide telecommunications equipment to increase access to health care and educational opportunities in rural areas.

     Arkansas Senator John Boozman; 1st District Congressional Representative Rick Crawford; Tracy Copeland from the Department of Fiancee and Administration; State Director of the USDA Rural Development and Community Program Director Stephen Lasgasse were instrumental in Baxter Regional Medical Center receiving this grant.
