A Calico Rock man was arrested In Baxter County on felony drug charges during a vehicle stop. Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says 24 year old Jamie Lee Southard is charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor charges of defective vehicle equipment and no liability insurance. He also faces penalty enhancement as a habitual offender. Southard is being held in the Baxter County jail with bond set at $15,000.
The sheriff says a deputy from his department stopped Southard on U. S. Highway 62 west Saturday night at 10:14 for an equipment violation. The deputy was able to conduct a search of the vehicle were 2.2 grams of suspected meth, glass smoking pipes and plastic baggies with residue were located. Southard was then transported to the Baxter County jail.
