The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office says a Springfield man will not face charges in a fatal shooting death.
Assistant Prosecutor Todd Myers says 39-year-old Dan Rich was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed 31-year-old Corey Kesner in February.
Myers says investigators determined Kesner was armed with a screwdriver when Rich shot him during a confrontation in the parking lot of a shopping center in southwest Springfield.
The Joplin Globe reports Rich made statements after the shooting that he acted in self-defense.
