LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) An Arkansas fraternity chapter has been suspended and one of its members expelled after a photo surfaced of the fraternity member wearing apparent blackface.
The Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity suspended its chapter at the University of Central Arkansas on Saturday after learning about the photo.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the photo was a screenshot from an Instagram post and showed a man in a Bill Cosby-type sweater with what looked like black paint covering his face and neck.
The Instagram location was listed as "Sigma Tau Gamma _ UCA" and the caption reads, "It was a bold night."
The photo comes two days after Sigma Tau Gamma sent an email to all fraternity members nationwide, reminding them not to wear offensive costumes while celebrating Halloween.
