(AP) – Audrain County authorities say one of three parolees

who escaped from a halfway house in central Missouri was found dead after a long

standoff with law enforcement.

Audrain County Sheriff Maj. Matt Oller said Thursday that the three men

escaped Wednesday from the home in Fulton.

They then allegedly stole a Missouri Department of Transportation vehicle,

robbed a bank in Martinsburg and led officers on a chase that lasted nearly an

hour and included shots being fired at officers. Oller says after the vehicle

crashed into a home in Montgomery City, two suspects – Cecil Golden and David

Franklin – were captured.

The third person, 23-year-old Wade Sargent, ran into a nearby home that was

unoccupied. After the standoff, Sargent was found dead of an apparent

self-inflicted gunshot wound.
