(AP) – Little Rock police say two people have been found dead
after law enforcement surrounded a home for several hours in a reported hostage
situation.
A police report says officers were called to a home around 11 a.m. Sunday, and
determined 41-year-old Tyron Humphrey was holding 46-year-old Tracie White
hostage. Lt. Steve McClanahan says police treated the standoff as a hostage
situation after a woman reported to authorities that she had received a text
message saying another woman was being held against her will inside the home.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that after trying to contact the
occupants of the home with a loudspeaker, police eventually forced their way
inside. Police chief Kenton Buckner says the man and woman were found fatally
shot in the attic.
Police say they believe Humphrey shot White before shooting himself.
