(AP) – A Paragould woman charged with hiding a man’s body in

her home has pleaded guilty to abuse of corpse.

Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington told KAIT-TV that 66-year-old Gloria

Tensley pleaded guilty Monday afternoon in Greene County Circuit Court and was

sentenced to three years in prison.

An attorney for Tensley did not immediately return an after-hours phone call

for comment.

Ellington said that as part of a plea agreement charges of Social Security

fraud against Tensley were dropped.

Tensley was arrested after a man living on the property found the skeletal

remains of Clarence Shanowat in Tensley’s home in July.

Ellington said it’s believed Shanowat died of natural causes and Tensley

didn’t report the death so she could continue collecting his Social Security

disability benefits.
