An Izard County man is the victim of a drowning accident Tuesday on Crown Lake, near Horseshoe Bend. According to Izard County Sheriff, the body of 22 year old Colt Farley of Zion was discovered by divers from the Arkansas Game and Fish Department Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say Farley took his boat to the Box Hound Marina boat launch Tuesday evening at 5:30 to test it before going duck hunting the following morning. He had planned to meet friends that evening and when he did not arrive, they went to the marina looking for him.

At 10:45 that night, Izard County dispatch received a call from the marina where Farley’s truck and boat trailer were found with the truck door open and the engine running. Izard County Sheriff’s deputies, first responders and Horseshoe Bend Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene and found Farley’s boat across the lake. A search for Farley was conducted with personnel returning Wednesday morning with boats equipped with sonar equipment and the dive team. The body of Colt Farley was discovered Wednesday afternoon at 1:45.
