L.E.A.N. Start program accepting registration at ASUMH

     Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Community Education Program is accepting registrants for L.E.A.N. Start for families. The program is scheduled to begin Monday and will be taught by Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Diane Burton.

     L.E.A.N. is an acronym standing for Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition. Participants will learn which foods are best for growing children, easy label reading techniques, what types of fat the body needs most and how to make foods kids love.

     The program has 3 two-hour workshops, from 6 in the evening to 8 p.m., and is designed to make lifestyle changes for the family which could reduce medical expenses, maintain a healthier weight, increase productivity and energy, and increase overall health.

     There will be a $15 fee due to the instructor the first day of class. A workbook, recipes, healthy snacks and interactive activities will be provided.
