Local stores busy with holiday shoppers



     Across the country shopper headed to the stores to begin their Christmas Shopping with Black Friday setting records for holiday spending, according national retailing sources. Here in the Twin Lakes Area, local stores were also busy. Penny Wooldridge from Carl Wayne Nursery says although some people don’t think of a nursery when it comes to holiday shopping, they something for gifts, decor and more.

     Always popular are poinsettias, says Worldwide, as well as live evergreen trees.

     Orcheln’s in Mountain Home has also been busy with shoppers. Keith Holt, an Orcheln employee, says items for the sports enthusiast are popular gifts, especially gun safes. He says shoppers are also looking for clothing for men, women and children he says, as well as toys.

     Like most local retailers, Holt says customer satisfaction is what is important when serving Twin Lakes Area residents.

     The National Retailers Federation predicts holiday sales will increase 3.7 percent over 2015.
