Basketball and bowling make up the local Monday schedule.

It’s the season opener for the Mountain Home High School bowling teams. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be on the road, but it’s a short trip as they meet Flippin.

Mountain Home is coming off a season in which the girls finished fifth in the Classes 7A/6A State Tournament. The Bomber boys didn’t make the state tournament as a team, but Davis Larue, one of last year’s seniors, represented Mountain Home with a 15th place finish in the individual standings.

Larry Sorrells begins his second year at the helm of the program. Sorrells says he has another young squad, but he is optimistic about the season.
