The Mountain Home High School boys began action in the 56th annual Forsyth Basketball Tournament on a tough note. The Bombers fell to the host Panthers 62-56 Tuesday night.

Mountain Home kept a slim lead throughout the first quarter. Forsyth took over in the second period as the Bombers had trouble against the Panthers' pressure defense, and Mountain Home went to the locker room trailing 28-19. The Bombers' offensive production picked up in the second half as they eventually took the lead back in the final period, but it didn't last as Forsyth recaptured the advantage with about two minutes left and did not relinquish it.

Garrett Dietsche led Mountain Home with 19 points, and Mitchell McDonald added 16. For the Panthers, Michaiah Rocha scored 21 points, and Anthony Stanford had 17.

The Bombers fall to 0-4 on the season, and they move to the consolation bracket Thursday as they meet Flippin at 7:30. The Bobcats lost to Walnut Grove 69-35. Forsyth improves to 1-1, and they'll face Walnut Grove in Friday's semifinals.
