Rural Mtn. Home man arrested on charges of burglary and theft

     One arrest has been made in connection with stolen property recovered by the Baxter County Sheriff in an investigation that remains active. Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says 41 year old Dwayne Allen Thompson of rural Mountain Home is in the Baxter County jail on felony charges of residential burglary, breaking or entering and theft of property with bond set at $50,000.

     According to the sheriff, investigators searched storage units at two mini storage unit locations in Mountain Home after receiving information from a confidential informant who named Thompson as a suspect. He was arrested during at traffic stop Tuesday afternoon in Mountain Home.

     Investigators have recovered five trailer loads of stolen property taken from break-ins at other mini storage units and vacant homes. Incident reports have been filed for some of the recovered property and other items have not yet been connected with cases and/or the owners may not yet realized the items are missing. The property is being temporarily stored at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.

     Montgomery says he expects further charges to be filed against Thompson as the investigation continues.
