JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) _ Tamas Bruce scored 16 points, Deven Simms added 15
points, and Arkansas State beat Cleveland State 78-51 on Wednesday night for its
seventh straight victory.
Arkansas State went on an early 13-2 run to build a 16-9 lead and the Red
Wolves closed the half on a 9-0 spurt to extend their lead to 32-17. In the
second half, the Red Wolves went up 51-29 for their seventh game this season
with a 20-point lead.
Donte Thomas added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists for Arkansas State
(7-1), which plays undefeated TCU (7-0) on Saturday.
Thomas had his 200th career assist in the first half when he found C.J. Foster
for a 3-pointer. Thomas is the 13th player in program history to reach the mark.
Demonte Flannigan led Cleveland State (1-5) with 14 points and six rebounds.
The Vikings committed 23 turnovers and shot just 39 percent from the field.
