Thursday schedule includes MH basketball teams in tournaments

Basketball and bowling make up the local Thursday schedule.



The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team will play its first tournament game of the season at Greene County Tech High School in Paragould. The Lady Bombers will play the first game of the third annual Tech Invitational as they meet West Memphis.

Mountain Home comes into the tournament at 1-2 on the season. The Lady Bombers’ last game was nine days ago when they fell at home to Greene County Tech.

Tip-off is scheduled for four p.m. Thursday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.



The Mountain Home boys returns to the road to continue action in the 56th annual Forsyth Basketball Tournament. The Bombers will play in the consolation bracket as they go up against Flippin.

Mountain Home is currently 0-4 on the year. The Bombers’ first game in Forsyth when they suffered a six-point loss to the host Panthers. The Bobcats moved to consolation bracket after falling to Walnut Grove.

Gametime is set for 7:30. Thursday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Action begins at 6:00 with the first game between the School of the Ozarks and Reeds Spring.



Both of Lutie’s teams will face Galena to begin tournament play in Fordland. The girls’ game begins at 4:00 followed by the boys’ contest.

The Equity Bank Omaha Border Classic will hold its semifinal round. On the girls’ side, Berryville and Kingston tip off at 4:00, and the host Lady Eagles take on Jasper at 7:00. In the boys’ games, Jasper plays Berryville at 5:30, and Omaha meets Blue Eye at 8:30.

In other high school basketball, Gainesville travels to Koshkonong, and Dora’s girls make the trip to Houston.



Mountain Home will have a pair of freshmen boys’ basketball games in Springdale as they meet Southwest. The junior varsity game tips off at 5:00 at Har-Ber High School followed by the varsity contest.

Also on the junior high schedule, Bruno-Pyatt heads to Viola, Izard County hosts Hillcrest, Mountain View’s girls entertain Southside Batesville, and the Mountain View boys travel to Southside Batesville.



In high school bowling, Norfork faces Southside Batesville at Driftwood Lanes, and Flippin makes the trip to Horseshoe Bend to take on Melbourne.
