Mountain Home man arrested for drugs

Officer Rockie Morrell from the Baxter County Sheriff’s office arrested 39-year-old Justin Eugene Cross early Wednesday morning on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The officer was on routine patrol near the area of Shadow Talk Trail due to reports of suspected drug activity.

Officer Morrell came across three parked vehicles with several people around them. He began to question one, identified as Cross, who began acting suspicious. While gathering license plate numbers from the vehicles Morrell noticed a small scale, in the vehicle Cross was seated, in plain view. On the drivers seat was a black bag containing a small amount of meth. Cross later admitted there was also a meth pipe in the vehicle.

He was bookend into the Baxter County jail with bond set at $5,000 and schedule to appear in court Thursday.
