Saturday schedule includes MHHS basketball teams in consolation finals

Basketball and wrestling make up the local Saturday schedule.



The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team will be playing for the consolation championship of the Tech Invitational at Greene County Tech High School in Paragould. The Lady Bombers’ final opponent in the tournament will be Marion.

Mountain Home comes into the game at 2-3 on the season after squeaking out a two-point victory over the host Lady Eagles on Friday. In the very next game, Marion was a winner over Fort Smith Northside.

Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30. Saturday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.



The Mountain Home boys will also play for a consolation title. The Bombers’ last game in the 56th annual Forsyth Basketball Tournament will be against Reeds Spring.

Mountain Home takes a 1-4 record into the contest after beating Flippin on Thursday. Reeds Spring’s last game was a victory over the School of the Ozarks.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30. Saturday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Action on the final day starts at four p.m. with Flippin meeting the School of the Ozarks for seventh place. On the other side of the bracket, Hollister takes on Forsyth for third place at 7:00, and West Plains faces Walnut Grove for the championship at 8:30.



Bakersfield’s boys will compete in the consolation final of the River Country Chevrolet Classic at Thayer. The Lions’ game is scheduled for 3:30.

Lutie will play their final games in the Fordland Tournament as both Indian teams go up against New Covenant Academy. The girls’ game tips off at noon followed by the boys’ contest.

The Equity Bank Omaha Border Classic will come to an end Saturday. In girls’ action, Western Grove plays Green Forest for fifth place at 1:30, the host Lady Eagles meet Kingston at 4:30 in the third place game, and Jasper faces Berryville for the championship at 7:30. On the boys’ side, the fifth place game will be between Lead Hill and Green Forest at 3:00, Blue Eye takes on Berryville for third place at 6:00, and Omaha plays Jasper in the finals at 9:00.

In addition, Timbo and Rural Special are scheduled to compete in the Midland Invitational Tournament at Pleasant Plains.

The Mountain Home freshment boys will open action in the Cavemen Tournament at Cave City. The Junior Bombers will meet the host school at 12:15.



The Mountain Home wrestling team will also be in tournament action. The Bombers will compete at Central High School in Little Rock.
