Mitch Mitchell, who listed a Cave City address on the Baxter County jail log, pled guilty to a number of drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was sentenced to five years in prison.
The 41-year-old Mitchell was stopped by a Mountain Home Police Department officer on College Street on October 19th after the officer noticed a “fictitious” license plate on the vehicle Mitchell was driving.
The MHPD drug dog alerted on the front driver’s side door and a lock box was located under the driver’s seat that contained marijuana, morphine and Clonazepam pills, digital scales, three used syringes and almost $8,000 in currency.
In the probable cause affidavit, it was noted that Mitchell also had felony warrants from two other Arkansas counties — Independence and Randolph — and has had at least five previous felony convictions dating back to 1997.
