A few area basketball teams saw action Wednesday in the second day of the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament at Batesville.
The Calico Rock boys’ comeback fell short as they lost to Mountain View 34-30. The Yellowjackets were led by Evan Isbell with 12 points, and Tanner Buchanan chipped in ten. Mountain View will play again Friday in the semifinals.
Mountain View’s girls will join their male counterparts in the semifinals after getting a 48-25 victory over Calico Rock. Kaley Shipman was the Lady Yellowjackets’ top scorer with 17 points.
In another girls’ game, Izard County suffered a 57-41 loss at the hands of Southside Batesville. Kennedy Cooper led the Lady Cougars with 12 points, and Sam and Jen King each finished with 11 points.
Izard County also fell on the boys’ side after Pocahontas posted the 43-39 decision. The Cougars were led by Justus Cooper with 18 points, and Taylor Reynolds ended up with 12.
