Sanders chosen to attend Jekyll Island Management Institiute

     Gloria Sanders, the executive director of the Calico Rock Muesum and Visitor Center, is one of 20 museum professionals nationwide to be chosen to attend the Jekyll Island Management Institute, and eight day training and network conference scheduled in January on Jekyll Island, Georgia.

     The institute offers museum professionals an opportunity to learn current methods in the field, hone in their leadership skills, and build networks with their peers from accross the country. Participants will learn management skill through presentations, small group discussions, projects and participatory exercises. They will have an opportunity to discover their management styles through self-tests and activities, group project assignments and presentations.

     Serving as the executive director of the Calico Rock Museum since 2010, Sanders was named the 2016 Distinguished Museum Professional of the Year by the Arkansas Museums Association. The Arkansas Museums Association also has awarded Sanders with a tuition-paid scholarship to attend the Jekyll Island Management Institutie.
