Local youth will have an opportunity to show off their free throw shooting skills. ELKS Lodge #1714 will host its local competition of the 45th annual ELKS Hoop Shoot for children ages eight to 13 attending school at Mountain Home, Cotter, Norfork, Flippin, Yellville-Summit, Bakersfield and Gainesville.
Each school will hold their own competition and send the best shooters to the area finals January 14th at nine a.m. in Bomber Gymnasium at Mountain Home High School. The winners of the area finals will advance to the Arkansas State Finals in Hot Springs in February, the state winners will move on in March to the Central Region 9 competition in Paris, Tennessee, and the national finals will be in Chicago.
