Mountain Home man arrested on drug charge





     A Mountain Home man, 27-year-old Michael Newman, was arrested by Mountain Home Police Monday on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge. According to Police Chief Carry Manuel, an officer responded to a complaint call from a local business saying a man was flashing a strobe light at people. When the officer arrived on the scene Newman was standing outside of the business.

     It was discovered Newman had a warrant from Marion County for his arrest. After he was placed under arrest and searched, the officer found a substance believed to be meth in one of his pockets.

     Michael Newman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. He was booked into the Baxter County Jail on a $2,500 bond. According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s inmate roster Newman is also facing a parole violation making the total bond $3,663.
