GT and Lego students at Cotter earn awards and advance to state

     Three teams of Cotter students have won awards and will advance to state competitions in January.

The Bags for Ballers and Trendy T-shirt Tribe gifted and talented students will be moving on to a state expo in January. The Cotter Lego Team, Bricks Before Chicks, will also advance to state on January 20th and 21st in Fayetteville.

     The gifted and talented students were among the top teams from schools across 15 Arkansas counties in the YES competition.

     Springfield says the gifted and talented teams will prepare to showcase their ideas in Little Rock.

     The Bags for Ballers are sixth-graders Isaiah Kemp, Payton McGee and Aaron Paegelow and the Trendy T-shirt Tribe is seventh-grader Kate Cheek.

      The Cotter Lego Team, Bricks Before Chicks, recently earned the Core Value Award at the Mountain Home qualifier tournament. Team members are Landon Francis, James Crownover, Hayden Hutson, Luke House and Jeffry Haynes. Monica Springfield is also a coach alongside Shane Lively.
