Santa came a few days early when he stopped by the Salvation Army headquarters in Mountain Home Tuesday with gifts over 300 Angel Tree children. Captain Jamie Spalding says the children come from nearly 130 families who signed up for assistance in early November.

Volunteers from the community helped package and distribute the bags of toys, shoes and clothing to the parents. Included with the gifts for the children were wrapping paper and ribbons. One volunteer was Capt. Spalding's son, Micah.

There is still time to help the Salvation Army this Christmas. Red Kettle and Bell Ringers will be at local stores accepting donations until Christmas Eve. Donations can also be mailed to the Salvation Army at 121 State Highway 201 in Mountain Home, 72653.
