The American Red Cross announces dates for residents to donate blood

     Though most of the country is facing a harsh winter, hospital patients depend on lifesaving transfusions, no matter the weather conditions. The American Red Cross is encouraging area residents to donate blood or platelets to help ensure patients can continue receiving lifesaving treatments this winter.

     The Mountain Home Blood Donation Center located on Highland Circle has several days it will be open this winter. Dates and hours include December 22nd and 23rd from eight to three; Christmas Day from seven-thirty to eleven-thrity; December 26th from nine to five; December 28th from ten to five; December 29th, 30th and January 1st from eight to three; January 2nd from nine to five; January 4th from ten to five; January 5th, 6th and 8th from eight to three; January 9th from nine to five;January 11th from ten to five; and January 12th, 13th and 15th from eight to three.

     The Red Cross is also accepting blood donations in Boone County at the Bergman Church of Christ on Hwy 7. Stop by January 5th two-seven to donate.

In Izard County people interested in donating can stop by the Community Medical Center of Izard County, in Calico Rock, January 3rd two-six.

Stone County also has serval places for people to donate. Dates and hours are December 22nd in Mountain View at Walmart from noon- four; January 9th in Fox at the Anrioch General Baptist Church from two-thirty to seven; and January 12th in Timbo at Timbo High School from two-six.
