A Mountain Home woman, 51-year-old Rebecca Martin, has been arrested again Sunday on felony possession of a controlled substance, along with 45-year-old Dale Martin of Caulfield. According to an incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, an officer was on the bypass between Blackburn Drive and Buzzard Roost Road when he spotted Rebecca Martin’s car. The officer investigated to see who was driving the car, having knowledge her license was allegedly suspended. During the investigation he noticed a passenger in the vehicle, Dale Martin, who had an active warrant for his arrest out of Baxter County.

The officer followed the car as it turned on to Buzzard Roost Road and when the vehicle stopped the primary rear brake lights did not come on. He initiated a traffic stop and placed Dale Martin under arrest due to the active warrant. Rebecca was asked for consent to search the vehicle, which she denied, however Dale had an active probation or parole search waiver, enabling the officer to proceed with the search. Approximately 1.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found under the arm rest shared by the passenger and the driver.

Both Rebecca and Dale Martin were booked into the Baxter County Jail on felony possession charges. Rebecca was also charged with misdemeanor defective equipment and posted a $5000 bond. She was released the same day. Dale had additional charges of non-payment of fines, out of Baxter County and the Mountain Home Police Department, as well as a parole violation. His bond was set at $7,018 and he was released on Wednesday.

This is not the first time the Martins have had run-ins with local law enforcement regarding drugs. In March of 2015, Rebecca, Dale and Dean Thompson were arrested by the Baxter County Sheriff’s on felony drug charges as a result of an investigation into drug trafficking. During a search of a residence on 502 County Road 30, officers found a duffel bag in a bedroom containing approximately 17.6 ounces of methamphetamine in plastic baggies. At the time, it was one of the largest seizures of methamphetamine in Baxter County.

The charges were eventually dismissed due to a warrant technicality.
