The Baxter County Sheriffs Office reports a moderately busy Christmas holiday weekend with respect to complaint calls and calls for service. During the period of Friday, December 23rd through Monday, December 26th, the Sheriffs Office handled a total of 91 calls throughout the county. There were a total of 18 people booked into the Baxter County Detention Center during that same time by all law enforcement agencies on 32 separate charges. Among those charges were one aggravated assault on a family member, one residential burglary, five minors in possession of alcohol, 2 in possession of drug paraphernalia and 14 arrest warrants served.
In addition to those, Sheriffs Deputies issued 5 citations for traffic offenses or criminal misdemeanors, as well as 7 warnings for traffic violations. There were no other serious incidents reported.
