An Isabella woman, 34-year-old Jennifer Engles, was recently arrested at her home on a grand jury indictment warrant out of Howell County with charges of sexually trafficking a child younger than the age of 12 and endangering the welfare of a child. According to the Ozark County Times, Sheriff Darrin Reed says Engles was arrested without incident.

The charges stem from allegations that between September first of 2010 and August 31st of 2011, Engles had sex with men for money in view of the child, and at the same time, her husban Ernest “Dale” Engles engaged in sexual acts with the child. The child reportedly told investigators with the South Central Child Advocacy Center in West Plains that the couple would use a timer and the acts would occur in five-minute increments. The acts allegedly occurred at the Engles home in Brandsville. The charges were filed in Howell County before Circuit Judge David Paul Evans.

Online records indicate Jennifer Engles is represented by public defender John Edward Zimmerman. A motion to reduce bond was filed December 16, and a case review was scheduled for Monday. No details of the hearing were available at press time. Ernest “Dale” Engles was found guilty by a Dent County jury on June 17 of statutory sodomy, two counts of child molestation and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The case was transferred on a change of venue motion from Howell County to ensure an unbiased jury. A sentencing hearing was held November eighth and Ernest Engles was sentenced to life in prison.
