Joplin man, 75, killed in house fire

(AP) – Authorities say a 75-year-old man died in a fire at his home
near Joplin in southwestern Missouri.
The Jasper County Sheriff's Department says firefighters found Franklin
Rossman's body after extinguishing the blaze early Tuesday.
The sheriff's department says firefighters responded after a worker at a
nearby power plant reported flames coming from the house. Deputies tried to
enter the building but were repelled by heat and flames.
The sheriff's department says an initial investigation shows no signs of foul
play, though state fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the
blaze.
