High school basketball makes up the local Thursday schedule as it’s the final day of the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament at Mountain Home.

The Lady Bombers will compete for third place on the girls’ bracket as they meet Greenwood. Mountain Home fell to 6-7 on the season after an overtime loss in the semifinals to Paragould. The Lady Bulldogs were defeated at the hands of Watson Chapel. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30.

In the other girls’ games, Highland and Morrilton will get underway at nine a.m. in the seventh place game in the auxiliary gym, Southside Batesville faces Farmington for fifth place at 10:30, and the championship game will be at 4:30 between Paragould and Watson Chapel.

Mountain Home will compete for the boys’ championship as they take on Southside Batesville. The Bombers are 4-8 on the year as they come off a semifinal victory over Farmington. The Southerners topped Marianna in the other semifinal. Gametime is set for 6:00.

Also on the boys’ bracket, Highland and Hamburg tip off in the seventh place game at 9:00, Paragould plays Brinkley in the fifth place game at noon, and Farmington will be paired with Marianna in the third place game at 3:00.



Two local girls’ teams will conclude action in the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament. Dora meets Eminence in the consolation final at 2:30, and Gainesville faces Salem, Missouri, for the championship at 7:00.



The Gainesville boys will play for the consolation title of the Cabool Holiday Tournament. The Bulldogs take on Crocker at 3:00.



The teams from Bergman and Valley Springs will continue play in the Cornerstone Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament at Berryville. In the boys’ consolation games, Valley Springs will be paired with Green Forest in a battle between Tigers at 11:20, and the Panthers meet Monett, Missouri, at 2:00. Bergman and Valley Springs will go up against each other in the girls’ semifinals at 3:20.
