Marion County Sheriff's Office seeks full-time deputy

     The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is heading into 2017 looking to fill one of its positions. According to Sheriff Joan Vickers, her office is accepting applications for a full-time patrol deputy.

     The position provides the Marion County employee benefit package including vacation, sick time, health benefits and retirement. Full-time certification is preferred but not required. If an applicant selected for the position is not currently certified as a full-time law enforcement officer, the applicant will be required to attend and complete the Basic Police Academy within nine months of the date of hire. Applicants will also be subject to a background check, and the salary is dependent upon certification and experience.
