Tuesday basketball schedule includes district openers for MH

High school basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule as 6A/5A-2 district play begins for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be on the road as they meet Batesville.

Mountain Home’s girls are currently 7-7 on the season. The Lady Bombers are coming off a third place finish in the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament after a win Thursday over Greenwood. Batesville has a record of 12-3. The Lady Pioneers fell to Nettleton last Tuesday in Jonesboro to finish second in the Division II bracket of the NEA Tournament.

The Mountain Home boys take a 4-9 mark into district action. The Bombers lost to Southside Batesville in the championship game of the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament. Batesville is 2-9 on the year. The Pioneers lost in the opening round of the NEA Tournament to Gosnell on December 20th.

The junior varsity games tip off at five p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Elsewhere in the 6A/5A-2, Greenbrier hosts Beebe, and Vilonia entertains Morrilton.



The opening round of the 43rd annual North Arkansas College Senior Boys and Girls Tournament will come to an end at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. In the girls’ games, St. Joe and Marshall will tip off at 4:00, and Cotter faces Kingston at 6:30. On the boys’ side, Norfork takes on Viola at 5:15, and Western Grove plays Highland at 7:45.



In other high school basketball, Flippin is home against Lead Hill, Yellville-Summit hosts Green Forest, Mammoth Spring entertains Dora, Bakersfield is home against Koshkonong, Calico Rock hosts Hillcrest, Izard County entertains Brockwell, Melbourne’s girls travel to Hoxie, Mountain View makes the trip to Bald Knob, Rural Special heads to Shirley, Bergman is home against Huntsville, and Valley Springs travels to Berryville.
