Mountain Home woman says car theft happened quickly

     A Mountain Home woman, 33-year-old Leeanne Bickford-Scott, says the recent theft of her car Tuesday afternoon, happened quickly. She was parked in a lower driveway in the Mallard point area at

71 Bayside Terrace and was only going in the house for a few minutes.

     Scott says at first it didn’t dawn on her that the car had been stolen. She thought maybe her husband had taken it or perhaps it was moved.

     Scott eventually received a tip regarding a potential suspect, which she passed along to police. Sheriff’s dispatchers broadcast a description of the stolen vehicle and a short time later, an Arkansas State Trooper found it in the same area of the county.

     27-year-old Taylor Daniel George, who is currently on parole from the Arkansas Department of Corrections, was arrested on felony theft charges and a parole violation.

     Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says to lock up cars, even if they are in a personal driveway, whether it’s two minutes, five minutes or overnight.

      Taylor Daniel George is being held on a bond of $7,500 on the vehicle theft charge and a no bond hold on the parole violation. He is expected to appear in Baxter COunty Circuit Court next Friday.
