Thursday schedule includes basketball, bowling

Basketball and bowling make up the local Thursday schedule.



The Mountain Home High School bowling teams return to Driftwood Lanes as they take on Flippin. Action begins at four p.m.

Elsewhere, Melbourne meets Concord at Horseshoe Lanes.



In basketball, the 43rd annual North Arkansas College Senior Boys and Girls Tournament will wrap up its quarterfinal round at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. In the boys’ games, Alpena and Deer tip off at 5:15, and Marshall faces Highland at 7:45. The only girls’ game of the night will be at 6:30 between Bergman and Omaha. Yellville-Summit’s girls were originally scheduled to take the court at 4:00, but because of a scheduling conflict for Hector, the Lady Panthers will move on to Friday’s semifinals.

Gainesville’s girls will be in Sparta for their opener in the Lady Trojan Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs play the host team at 7:00.

Dora will compete in the Liberty Girls Tournament at Mountain View, Missouri. The Lady Falcons meet Bay at 5:30.

Also on the high school schedule, Timbo hosts Shirley.



Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ basketball teams will return to the home floor as they take on Southside Batesville. The seventh grade game tips off at 5:00 followed by the eighth grade and freshmen contests.

Two of Mountain Home’s junior high girls’ teams will also go up against Southside, but those games will be on the road. The seventh grade game starts at 5:00, and the freshmen contest will follow.

In other junior high basketball, Norfork travels to Melbourne, Calico Rock makes the trip to Mountain View, Rural Special heads to Western Grove, and Lead Hill travels to Alpena.
